EXMAR and Seapeak through their JV (EXMAR LPG BV) are moving forward with the use of ammonia as fuel for two Midsize Gas Carriers (MGCs). The vessels will be constructed at Hyundai Mipo Dockyard in South Korea.

The newly ordered vessels will be equipped with dual fuel propulsion engines (ammonia and conventional marine fuel). The MGC's are due for delivery first half of 2026 and will be worlds first ships equipped with two-stroke ammonia fueled engines. This innovation establishes EXMAR's commitment to offer its customers the ability to ship their goods near carbon neutral when used with green ammonia and further reduces othe emissions such as SOx.

EEMSHAVEN LNG, EXMAR's FSRU is performing as per expectations under the five-year charter with GASUNIE affiliate EemsEnergy Terminal BV with a 100% commercial uptime in the first quarter of 2023. Since March 2023 the unit is fully operating with shore power and shore heat for its regasification operations.
